The North American Thermal Analysis Society offers scientists and practioneers the opportunity to explore the frontiers of thermal analysis, rheology, and materials characterization by participating in the 2018 NATAS Conference and Short Course. Presentations and posters by renowned scientists and graduate students set the stage for excellent discussions and an ideal environment to learn about state-of-the-art techniques and exciting new developments in materials research.  A Technical Exhibit will feature multiple vendors presenting their latest instrumentation for thermal analytical and rheological measurements. The cordial setting provides conference attendees the opportunity to review a variety of instruments and services offered by many vendors in a single location.

Plan to attend the opening invited lecture, welcome reception and student and general poster sessions on Monday evening, August 6 in Houston Hall, along with the opening of the Instrument Exhibition. The Conference Banquet will be held on Wednesday, August 8, 2018.

NATAS Short Course

The acclaimed NATAS Short Course will immediately after the conference on Aug. 9-10, 2018.  The aim of the Short Course is to introduce participants to the fundamentals of thermal analysis and rheology, instrumentation, test protocols, and specimen preparation. Hands on instruction is included. Applications in focused areas, including polymers, pharmaceuticals, and energetic materials will be discussed in depth.  NATAS Short Course instructors are highly credentialed and renowned for their expertise.  Beginning thermal analysts, graduate students, and those wanting to enhance their understanding and practice of thermal analysis will benefit from enrolling in the NATAS Short Course.
